FAQ – Bridal Makeup: Everything You Need to Know for Your Big Day

You’re getting ready for your wedding and want to make sure your makeup looks flawless and lasts all day?

I’ve gathered the most common questions brides ask me — with simple, practical answers and plenty of tips to help you feel confident and radiant on your big day.

1. How far in advance should I book my bridal makeup?

It’s best to book 6 to 12 months in advance, especially if your wedding is in spring or summer, which are peak wedding seasons. This way, you secure your spot and avoid any last-minute stress.

2. Is it important to have a makeup trial?

Yes, it’s highly recommended! A trial allows you to test different looks, adjust details and make sure you feel completely comfortable with your final choice. Ideally, schedule it 1 to 2 months before the wedding.

3. What should I bring to my makeup trial?

Bring makeup inspiration photos you love, pictures of your dress and accessories (veil, jewelry, etc.), and your wedding color palette. All of this helps create a look that’s cohesive and uniquely yours.

Extra tip: wear a white or light-colored top, it helps you see how the makeup will look with your wedding dress.

4. Will my makeup last all day?

Yes! With professional products and long-lasting techniques, your bridal makeup should last from the ceremony all the way through the party. I use waterproof products, primers and setting sprays to make sure everything stays flawless even after a few happy tears.

5. I have sensitive skin or allergies. What should I do?

Please let me know from the start if you have any allergies or skin sensitivities. We can use products you already know are safe for your skin and during the trial I carefully test everything to avoid any reactions. The goal is for you to feel safe, confident and beautiful.

6. Is bridal makeup different from everyday makeup?

Yes bridal makeup is more detailed and long-wearing, designed to look beautiful in photos, videos and under different lighting. It can be natural, romantic or glam, what matters most is that it reflects your style and enhances your natural beauty.

7. Will I need to touch up my makeup during the day?

Your makeup is meant to last but it’s normal to need a few touch-ups on your lips or T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin). I provide a touch-up kit with lipstick, blotting powder and other essentials to help you keep your look fresh until the end of the night.

8. Is the makeup waterproof?

Yes, absolutely! I use waterproof products especially for the eyes and complexion, to withstand tears, sweat and all those emotional moments.

9. How many people can you do makeup for on the wedding day?

It depends on the schedule but I can usually do makeup for 4 to 5 people, including the bride. If there are many bridesmaids or family members, I can bring an assistant to make sure everything runs smoothly and calmly.

10. How long does bridal makeup take on the day?

Bridal makeup usually takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the look. It’s important to plan enough time so everything can be done calmly and so you can enjoy the experience.

11. Should I take care of my skin before the wedding?

Yes and it makes a huge difference! In the months leading up to the wedding follow a consistent skincare routine. During your trial, I offer personalized skin prep advice to help your skin look its best. Healthy, hydrated skin makes makeup application easier and enhances the final result.

If you want makeup that lasts, enhances your beauty, and fits your style perfectly, get in touch to book your trial.
